The Universitat de Barcelona invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) in Chemistry. The project focuses on simulating oxide nanoparticles and developing machine-learned interatomic potentials to accurately describe their structure, interactions and vibrational spectra.

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative research environment, with emphasis on MLIPs and global optimization.

Formación

• PhD in Chemistry or related field preferably with strong research background.
• Experience with oxide nanoparticles and MLIPs is desirable.
• Knowledge of global optimization and machine learning interatomic potentials is valued.
• Languages English, Catalan and Spanish proficiency as indicated in the ad.

Responsabilidades

• Develop MLIPs to describe oxide nanoparticle structure and interactions.
• Simulate nanoparticles across size ranges from tens to thousands of atoms.
• Investigate finite temperature dynamics and vibrational spectra.
• Collaborate with the UB research team and contribute to dissemination of results.
