The Translational Molecular Pathology Laboratory at Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) invites applications for a PhD fellowship to study intercellular mitochondrial transfer and Connexin 43 regulation in cancer. The role focuses on breast cancer models, with potential extension to lung and pancreatic cancers, using advanced lineage tracing and imaging techniques.

Formación

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with high averages; good command of written and spoken English.

Responsabilidades

• Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments using cancer and stromal cell models.
• Establish and characterize tumour–stromal co-culture and 3D models.
• Apply HiBiT-based and fluorescence-based mitochondrial-tracing, plus live-cell imaging.
• Investigate mitochondrial transfer’s relation to stress responses and chemotherapy resistance.
• Present findings at group meetings and scientific conferences.
• Contribute to preparing scientific manuscripts and publications.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related life sciences

Official Master’s degree providing access to a PhD programme
