The Cancer Cell Cycle Group led by Dr. Marcos Malumbres at the Vall d´Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) is growing. Our lab focuses on the basic mechanisms that control cell differentiation and proliferation, and their implications in pathology. We aim to decipher the mechanisms that drive tumour cell proliferation with a patient‑focused perspective, exploring therapeutic opportunities by inhibiting critical cell cycle regulators.

We seek enthusiastic postdoctoral researchers with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology and cancer research. The successful candidate will contribute to an integrative biology project combining advanced experimental and analytical approaches to study the dynamic regulation of key cell cycle pathways in cancer cells. This will involve single‑cell technologies, high‑content screening, microscopy‑based approaches, and functional assays.
Applicants should have advanced skills in mammalian cell culture, cancer cell models, organoids or patient‑derived models, microscopy, high‑content imaging, single‑cell analysis, functional genomic or drug screening, genomic or transcriptomic data analysis, cell cycle regulation, and cancer biology.
VHIO endorses the Requirements and Principles of the European Charter for Researchers, the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers promoted by the European Commission, and follows Equal Opportunities policies.
