The Role
The People Operations team (part of People & Culture) provides day-to-day support services to over 2,000 Morningstar employees in EMEA, handling a diverse range of matters such as onboarding / offboarding, benefits, payroll, and immigration. Our team also supports all global and regional People & Culture programs, annual performance reviews, and various other projects.
The Operations Associate will be based in Madrid , reporting to the Operations Team Leader , and will be primarily supporting Morningstar colleagues in Spain, as well as any other countries in EMEA as needed.
As an Operations Associate, you will be the first line of support and culture ambassador for our employees. Your role will be focused on servicing our people and providing them with the best employee experience, throughout their entire journey at Morningstar. You will own and manage our people data, maintain clean and accurate records in our HR information system and payroll, work with other P&C functions such as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Business Partners to provide timely solutions, coordinate with external service providers (benefit vendors, brokers, immigration consultants) to manage various aspects of the employee lifecycle and ensure our P&C processes run smoothly and remain compliant.
What You’ll Do :
Respond to employee requests or questions through the Service Portal, email, or chat;
Support the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding and job change processes;
Draft and store employment contracts, addendums, letters, and other employee documents per local language and form requirements;
Maintain HR system records and process transactions as required ;
Perform data analysis, reporting, and regular data governance checks;
Stay informed about legal requirements and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across the region;
Maintain and update internal policies and procedures as needed;
Support monthly payroll processes by organizing and providing data, documents, and solutions on an ongoing basis;
Collaborate with the team to gather, store and share knowledge and best practices.
Who You Are :
You have 1-2 years of relevant experience working in the Spanish market and preferably in an international corporate environment ;
You are proficient in English and Spanish; additional European languages are a plus;
Preferably, you have prior experience or basic knowledge of Workday HCM, ServiceNow or other HR tools;
You have a strong interest in, and like to read about, core HR topics such as employment law, benefits or payroll.
