Cellnex Telecom, a leading European telecommunications infrastructure company, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our international People team in Barcelona. You will own the end-to-end monthly payroll cycle and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across our multinational environment.

You will handle complex payroll scenarios, coordinate with Legal and Tax advisors, and drive process improvements.

Formación

• Experience in payroll, personnel administration or People Operations.
• Solid understanding of payroll processes and compliance.
• Experience with complex payroll environments.
• Strong stakeholder management across functions.
• Experience with HRIS platforms and payroll systems (SAP, SuccessFactors).

Responsabilidades

• Own the end-to-end monthly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Calculate and validate complex payroll variables, ensuring legal and contractual compliance.
• Ensure compliance with local labor law, tax regulations and social security requirements.
• Lead payroll data reconciliation with Finance and provide accurate postings and reporting.
• Manage relationships with external providers and authorities, resolving escalations.
• Prepare and review statutory filings and year-end payroll declarations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and controls in payroll.
• Support internal and external audits related to payroll.
• Serve as a point of contact for complex employee payroll inquiries.

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our international People team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience through payroll excellence, operational accuracy and continuous process improvement. This is an opportunity to work in a multinational environment, partnering with People teams, employees and key stakeholders across different countries while contributing to the evolution, standardization and efficiency of payroll and People Operations processes.

Your impact

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of some of the organization's most critical payroll processes, contributing directly to employee trust, operational excellence and the overall employee experience.

You will support complex payroll scenarios, handle sensitive and confidential employee information and help ensure consistency and compliance across a multinational environment. Beyond payroll execution, you will contribute to process improvement initiatives and help evolve People Operations within a growing international organization.

What You’ll Do

• Own the end-to-end monthly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely execution.
• Calculate and validate complex payroll variables (bonuses, terminations, severance payments, expatriate compensation), ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local labor law, tax regulations, and social security requirements, liaising with Legal and Tax advisors as needed.
• Lead the reconciliation of payroll data with Finance, ensuring accurate accounting postings and reporting.
• Manage relationships with external payroll providers and authorities, resolving escalations and discrepancies.
• Drive the preparation and review of statutory filings and year-end processes, such as tax certificates and annual declarations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and controls within the payroll function.
• Support internal and external audits related to payroll.
• Act as a key point of contact for complex employee payroll inquiries and escalations.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in Payroll, Personnel Administration or People Operations, ideally within multinational or corporate environments.
• Solid understanding of payroll processes, compliance requirements and employee administration throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Experience working with complex payroll environments, including critical employee populations, executive payroll, mobility or international organizations.
• Customer-oriented mindset and strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to build effective relationships across People, employees and business teams.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms and payroll systems (SAP, SuccessFactors or similar).
• Advanced Spanish required. Intermediate to advanced English preferred. Additional European languages are considered a plus.
