Overall Purpose of Job

Under the supervision of the Patient Advocacy Head, the role of Project Manager & Patient Advocacy is to analyze and understand the patient pathway, in order to create the strategy and lead the creation and implementation of innovative programs and projects to enhance patient health outcomes.

Main Activities / Tasks

  • Partner with Therapeutic Areas, HEMAR, Government Affairs, and Patient Advocacy Groups to create and lead strategic and tactical plans to meet the needs of patients and the organization.
  • Develop and implement innovative projects, programs, and events to improve patient outcomes at regional and national levels.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for assigned Patient Associations, liaising with them to understand their needs and enhance the presence, image, and reputation of Janssen.
  • Promote and defend the company's image and reputation across patient advocacy groups, aligned with the Government Affairs Action Plan.
  • Coordinate with Government Affairs colleagues, professional organizations, universities, and Health Authorities.
  • Collaborate with other departments within JnJ, including Therapeutic Areas, Regulatory, Legal, HCBI / HCC, Communications, and Medical.
  • Work closely with Regional Government Affairs Managers to understand regional patient advocacy needs and solutions.
  • Develop an action plan for Patient Associations based on needs analysis and company objectives, within budget.
  • Monitor and control the budget assigned to the Project Manager & Patient Advocacy.
  • Lead internal approval processes to launch projects effectively, managing stakeholders and committees.
  • Monitor project progress against metrics, timelines, and commitments.
  • Coordinate with Communications to manage project-related communications, including social media.
  • Report all suspected adverse reactions within 24 hours to the Pharmacovigilance Department.
  • Degree in a relevant scientific, business, or related area.
  • Successful background in sales, marketing, MSL, or customer engagement.
  • Experience in client communication and fieldwork.
  • Effective team collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize, and develop internal approval processes.
