Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Zaragoza is seeking a Passenger Access Doors System Engineer to join the Train System department. You will define requirements for door systems and coordinate interfaces across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical domains.

You will support design, integration, validation, and testing of door systems, ensure compliance with railway standards such as EN 14752, and work with suppliers on BOMs.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical.
• +2 years' experience in the railway sector.
• Knowledge of door system design and railway standards (e.g., EN 14752).

Responsibilities

• Define requirements for passenger access door systems and manage interfaces.
• Support design, integration, and validation of door systems.
• Analyze door system performances, including cycles, safety devices, and TCMS integration.
• Select components and define interface constraints.
• Prepare BOMs and manage requirements using DOORS.
• Participate in design reviews, technical analyses, and on-site testing support.
• Manage sealing, insulation, and swing-plug vs sliding door technologies.

We are looking to incorporate a PASSENGER ACCESS DOORS SYSTEM ENGINEER into our centre of excellence for railway projects in Zaragoza.

The person selected will join the TRAIN SYSTEM department, working on high-tech national and international projects for leading rolling stock manufacturers.

Functions

• Define the requirements for the passenger access door systems and manage mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical interfaces.
• Support the design, integration, and validation of door systems, ensuring compliance with relevant railway standards
• Analyze door system performances, including opening/closing cycles, safety devices (anti-trap, emergency release), and integration with the train control system (TCMS).
• Selection and specification of door components (actuators, control units, sensors) and definition of interface constraints.
• Preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs), managing requirements (using tools like DOORS), controlling changes, and liaising with suppliers.
• Participating in design reviews, technical analyses, and providing support for prototyping and on-site testing.
• Manage specifications for sealing capabilities, acoustic and thermal insulation, and both swing-plug and sliding door technologies.

Requirements

• Engineering qualification (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or similar).
• +2 years' experience in the railway sector.
• Knowledge of door system design (mechanics, pneumatics, and control integration).
• Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., EN 14752).
• Intermediate to advanced level of English. French will be highly valued.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Availability to travel internationally on an ad hoc basis.
