Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Zaragoza seeks a CLIMATIC COMFORT AND VENTILATION SYSTEM ENGINEER to join the Train System centre of excellence for railway projects.

You will design, develop, and validate HVAC systems to ensure passenger comfort and safety, collaborating with train architecture, procurement and manufacturing teams. You will size equipment, participate in design reviews and validation activities to ensure robust system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 2+ years of railway sector experience.
• Proficiency in English; French is a plus.

We are looking to incorporate a CLIMATIC COMFORT AND VENTILATION SYSTEM ENGINEER into our centre of excellence for railway projects in Zaragoza.

The person selected will join the TRAIN SYSTEM department, working on high-tech projects for leading rolling stock manufacturers.

Functions:

You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and validating HVAC systems to ensure passenger comfort and safety. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (train architecture, procurement, and manufacturing), align system requirements with other engineering disciplines, oversee supplier collaboration, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of equipment sizing calculations and system integration, but also participate in design reviews and validation activities.

We’ll Look To You For:

• Definition of the functional concept and system architecture, including equipment integration and ducting architecture.
• Development, management, and coordination of interfaces with other systems.
• Formalization and maintenance of system specifications.
• Performing equipment sizing calculations.
• Analyzing system requirements and aligning them with other engineering disciplines.
• Overseeing equipment development and validation, reviewing supplier proposals.
• Conducting train-level validation and performances testing.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• +2 years' experience in the railway sector.
• Proficiency in English, French is a plus.

Desirable

• Experience in systems integration and knowledge of HVAC design or aerodynamic principles.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software concepts.
• Expertise in system failure analysis and troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
