Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Zaragoza is seeking a BRAKES AND PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join the Train System department on high-tech national and international rail projects. You will define braking system requirements, manage mechanical and electrical interfaces, and support prototyping and testing.

Qualifications

• Experience in braking or railway systems engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 8573-1 pneumatic standards.
• Ability to define mechanical and electrical interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Define braking system requirements and manage interfaces.
• Analyze deceleration, braking distance, adhesion and related parameters.
• Select pneumatic components per ISO 8573-1 and define constraints for control electronics.
• Support the design team with cable and pipe routing.
• Prepare BOMs and manage requirements using DOORS; track changes.
• Participate in design reviews, analyses, prototyping and on-site testing.

We are looking to incorporate a BRAKES AND PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS ENGINEER into our centre of excellence for railway projects in Zaragoza.

The person selected will join the TRAIN SYSTEM department, working on high-tech national and international projects for leading rolling stock manufacturers.

Functions:

• Define the requirements for the braking system and manage mechanical and electrical interfaces.

• Analysis of deceleration, resistance, braking distance, braking capacity and adhesion. Blending, jerk, discs, actuators and WSP are daily vocabulary for you.

• Selection and specification of pneumatic components in accordance with applicable standards (e.g. ISO 8573-1) and definition of constraints for the control electronics.

• Supporting the design team with cable and pipework routing.

• Preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs), managing requirements (using the DOORS tool), controlling changes and liaising with suppliers.

• Participating in design reviews, technical analyses, and providing support for prototyping and on-site testing.
