Description

Our team is part of the Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) Private Bank at Deutsche Bank. Within TDI, Partnerdata is the central client reference data system in Germany. It is a core banking system with over 2,000 interfaces, supporting various banking processes and applications. We maintain critical mainframe functionalities and develop new solutions including REST services, Angular frontends, Big Data, and GCP solutions. We are seeking a mainframe engineer to support daily operations, new development, and long-term cloud migration activities.

Your key responsibilities

  1. You will be part of the development team, responsible for analyzing epics and user stories collaboratively with stakeholders.
  2. You will support designing and translating high-level business requirements into software solutions.
  3. You will develop software components on mainframe and related environments such as MQ and Liberty.
  4. You will support the extension of backend architecture, design enhancements, and establish best practices.
  5. You will contribute to GCP development during the cloud migration phase.
  6. You will assist the product owner and subject matter experts in stabilizing the application before and after deployment, providing L3/L4 support for incidents.
  7. You will work and code actively within an agile team, participating in sprint activities and ceremonies after onboarding to agile methodologies.

Your skills and experience

  1. Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL, OPC is essential.
  2. Knowledge of Liberty, Java, GCP (e.g., Cloud SQL, BigQuery) is advantageous; willingness to learn is required.
  3. Basic understanding of cloud technologies and mainframe migration is preferred.
  4. Experience with SDLC workflows, change management, and development tools like Jira and Confluence.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage unexpected events efficiently.
  6. Experience working within Agile/SCRUM teams is preferred and will be required in the future.
  7. Knowledge of customer reference data, KYC processes, and regulatory topics is a plus.
  8. Ability to work independently and in teams, sharing knowledge and explaining technical decisions.
  9. Excellent English communication skills, both professional and informal.
