Job Description:

Our team is part of the Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) Private Bank area. Within TDI, Partnerdata is the central client reference data system in Germany. As a core banking system, it integrates many banking processes and applications via over 2,000 interfaces. We maintain critical mainframe functionalities while developing new solutions such as REST services, Angular frontends, Big Data, and GCP solutions. We focus on maintaining and implementing new CTB requirements, with an emphasis on regulatory and tax topics related to partners and clients. We are seeking a mainframe engineer to assist with daily activities.

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Participating in the development team to analyze epics and user stories collaboratively with stakeholders.
  2. Supporting the design and translation of high-level business requirements into software solutions.
  3. Developing software components on mainframe and related environments such as MQ and Liberty.
  4. Supporting the extension of backend architecture, designing enhancements, and establishing best practices according to development standards.
  5. Contributing to GCP application development during the cloud migration in the long term.
  6. Assisting the product owner and subject matter experts to stabilize the application pre- and post-production, providing Level 3/4 support during incidents.
  7. Willingness to work and code actively within an agile team, participating in sprint activities and ceremonies after full agile onboarding.

Your skills and experience:

  1. Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL, OPC.
  2. Knowledge of Liberty, Java, GCP (e.g., Cloud SQL, BigQuery) is advantageous; candidates should be willing to learn.
  3. Basic technical and infrastructure knowledge, including cloud technology and mainframe migration.
  4. Experience with SDLC, Change Management, and development tools like Jira and Confluence.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills to manage unexpected events efficiently.
  6. Experience working with Agile/SCRUM teams is an advantage and required in the future.
  7. Knowledge of customer reference data, customer onboarding processes, and regulatory topics such as KYC is a bonus.
  8. Ability to work independently and in a team, with a target-oriented approach.
  9. Willingness to share knowledge and explain technical decisions to less experienced engineers or non-technical colleagues.
  10. Excellent English communication skills, both professional and informal.
