A growing pharmaceutical company seeks a Packaging Operator for a 9-month fixed-term contract. The role involves packaging and filling pharmaceutical products in line with cGMP guidelines. Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience in a related field and Grade 12 completion. Excellent attention to detail and decision-making abilities are crucial for success in this role.

9-Month Fixed Term Contract (Day shift; 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday)

Reporting to the Packaging Operator 2IC, this position is responsible for the packaging and filling of pharmaceutical products in accordance with cGMP Guidelines.

Your primary responsibilities will include but not limited to :

  • Filling and packaging of pharmaceutical products
  • Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures
  • Operate bottle and tube filling and packaging lines, shrink wrappers and auto cartonners
  • Conduct manual secondary packaging (i.e. hand labelling, unit cartonning, ink jet coding)
  • Perform line clearances and in-process checks
  • Read and follow instructions in all critical documents
  • Record information in GMP documents
  • Check batch and expiry details, perform batch and label reconciliations
  • Review and reconcile completed batch documents
  • Issue cleaning status stickers at end of job to machines and tanks
  • Clear and clean production lines upon completion of batch, cleaning after spillages, remove of rubbish and emptying of bins.
  • Perform cleaning of Production Facility and specialised cleanrooms
  • Check packaging materials for production batches and retrieve from Warehouse
  • Collect retention and micro samples as per batch documents and deliver to QC / Validation
  • Participate in stock take activities
  • Participate in training activities
  • Assist in Production Facility start-up and shutdown activities

Knowledge, Experience and Education requirements :

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a pharmaceutical or related environment is desirable
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • English literacy, writing and numeracy skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving ability
  • Able to plan and organise workflow
  • Excellent attention to detail
