Formación

• Mínimo 5 años de experiencia en un entorno de fabricación y supervisión.
• Experiencia en gestión de proyectos de cambio significativo en manufactura.

Job Purpose

The BARCELONA site belongs to our Meat & Dairy Business Unit. The Meat & Dairy Business Unit of Amcor Flexibles EMEA utilises sophisticated coating, printing, laminating and specialist conversion technologies across a number of European sites, supplying a range of flexible packaging products to a prestigious, food customer base.

The Operations Manager within our BARCELONA site is responsible for managing Production, Maintenance, Warehouse (indoor logistics), Technical Services areas and the main priorities will be as follows :

• Within Plant Leadership Team, support PGM in the plant management, with a drive for excellence approach.

Job Dimensions & Scope

• Turnover for the Plant : €55Mil
• Process : transformation of raw materials in end products
• Complexity : interaction with customers, suppliers, contractors, Amcor corporate (R&D, Sales, Procurement, IT) and other AFEMEA plants.
• Staff : 127 people (8 direct reports)
• Scope & Geographical spread : Barcelona Plant, Amcor plants, Corporate (Sales, Manufacturing Excellence-CI and R&D) and Suppliers; External services.

Principal Accountabilities

• Delivering budget in terms of production volumes, costs, Capex
• Supporting the organisation for the management of the safety performance of the plant
• Taking an active role in the plant’s safety programs and goals, and spreading safety culture
• Defining and assigning goals and improvement projects to the line managers focused on competitiveness, efficiency and business continuity
• Defining and managing organisational processes and improvements (roles, responsibilities, number of headcounts, shifts, activities), according to company policies and budget
• Defining and verifying the correct KPIs to control processes performance
• Leading innovation and changes
• Promoting Amcor Values within the plant
• Supporting PGM and Plant Leadership Team in the plant management
• Supporting PGM and HR in industrial relations and disciplinary issues
• Heightening own team performances, knowledge and leadership
• Maintaining high level of collaborators’ motivation and engagement
• Requesting and supporting CI improvement projects
• Creating value through best practices sharing with other plants and introduction of new technologies

Qualifications / Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and supervision
• Experience in (flexible) packaging is an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the role
• Experience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment.
• First-hand experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
• Degree in a science, technology or engineering subject preferred; advanced degree advantageous.
• Knowledge of production machines, tools and related process control equipment, energy management, GMP’s, SAP and shop floor systems, safety and environmental regulation (Spain, EU), use of statistic calculation tools, basics of finance, Integrated Quality Assurance Systems (EHS, quality);
• Team working and coordinated management of the department.
• Execute promptly the activities established by the action plans
• Customer orientation (final and internal customer)
• Promote active communication and keep a positive attitude towards problem solving.
• Have initiative and be adaptable towards internal and external opportunities and threats.
• Guarantee the application and observance of AF Barcelona Mission, Strategy, Style and Values in team management, assuring coherence and exemplarity of the people in their performance.
• Fluent Spanish, Fluent spoken and written English; other languages advantageous.
