Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer for the Granada site to lead the OpEx program, applying Lean Six Sigma, MOS, RCA and VSM to improve performance and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requires an engineering degree, 1+ year in manufacturing or related fields, change management experience, and fluent English. You will mentor teams, drive KPI delivery, and advance OpEx maturity across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations, business, or related discipline.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, science or operational excellence environments.
• Knowledge of manufacturing site processes, systems, and organizational dynamics.
• Proven experience leading continuous improvement programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and project management.
• Experience in change management.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the site OpEx program and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and promote OpEx techniques and tools such as Standard Work, MOS, RCA, 6S, Visual Management.
• Coordinate and drive improvement projects and OpEx RoadMaps.
• Lead cross-functional teams on RCA, strategic projects and plant shutdowns.
• Support the Lean Six Sigma certification process (Yellow Belt, RCA, Value Stream Mapping).
• Develop and monitor KPIs related to OpEx and the site's performance.
• Conduct Operational Excellence Maturity Assessments and promote Abbott culture.
