The activities are organized in continuous 24 / 7 shifts in charge of Short Term Power Trading & dispatching.

Difficulties :

Operational risk, high concentration required on the job, and constant update of the regulations.

Relations :

• Internal: Origination department & TotalEnergies Gas & Power Trading in Spain and internal customers.
• External: OMIE, REE & Customers

The mission of Short Term Power operations is to maximize the revenues and value of the power portfolio and intraday and ancillary services trading activities within controlled risk parameters in the Iberian market.

Responsibilities include executing operations in the Spanish Electricity Market (OMIE and REE), providing real-time assistance to renewable producers and customers, and managing renewable assets from the Generation Control Center:

• Operate in day-ahead, intraday, and ancillary services markets: execute strategies, send bids, manage bilateral contracts, analyze market information, optimize energy, monitor production, and follow-up on RRTT constraints and discharge operations.
• Operate and control the Generation Control Center, manage the Regulation zone, and balance energy across generation, storage, and demand response assets.
• Provide real-time support to producer customers and assist represented customers in the market.
• Develop and propose new operational and bidding strategies.
• Utilize market knowledge to maximize operations, covering real-time needs for assets, renewables, and supply.
• Rebalance portfolios in intraday and ancillary markets.
• Conduct analysis, market research, and data analytics.
• Propose improvements in strategies, services, and IT systems.
• Participate in the commissioning of the control center and develop operational procedures.
• Stay updated on legal regulations, market rules, REE procedures, and other applicable regulations.
• Perform tasks with rigor, organization, and professionalism.

Minimum Requirements :

• Degree in industrial engineering, energy, or industrial processes.
• 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably in the Spanish Electricity Market.
• Programming skills in Python, R, or VBA.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
• Knowledge of OMIE & REE markets.
• Strong analytical, synthesis, and process-oriented skills.
• Practical, economic, logical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team and deliver results.
• Resilience under stress and pressure.
• Proactive with a capacity to evolve.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
