The Badalona Neuromuscular Research Group (GRENBA) is a multidisciplinary team composed of basic, translational, and clinical researchers working at IGTP and the Neurology and Paediatric services at Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital.
Our goal is to find solutions for neuromuscular disease patients, drawing on extensive clinical experience and recent patient base development. Our laboratory specializes in genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, and proteomic techniques to study diseases like myotonic dystrophy type I, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and glycogenosis V at the molecular level. We also generate patient-derived cellular models and test treatments in vitro, in vivo, and in patients, collaborating nationally and internationally.
The research focus for the candidate involves Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), exploring HDAC11 as a therapeutic target to reduce fibrosis, fat accumulation, inflammation, and to understand related molecular mechanisms.

Monthly contribution: Living allowance €5990, Mobility €710, Family allowances, etc. The candidate will join upon obtaining an MSCA-PF-2024 or similar fellowship. Benefits include holidays, training, and a vibrant research environment at Can Ruti Campus in Barcelona.
