eDreams ODIGEO in Barcelona is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Performance Marketing Technology Team and help evolve our marketing data ecosystem. You will design, build, and operate scalable data products and AI-driven analytics to support our growth across brands.

The role involves shaping the technical roadmap, mentoring teammates, and collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and marketing leaders to deliver value quickly in an Agile environment.

Senior Data Engineer - Performance Marketing

Working in a fast-paced Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with other Data Engineers, Performance Marketing managers, Product Managers and Data Scientists to turn complex data into data driven solutions.

What you will do

The Role's Key Responsibilities As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Senior Data Engineer in the Performance Marketing Team you will be in charge of:

• Architect & Deliver Scalable Data Products: Design, build, and optimize high-throughput data products and infrastructures that serve as foundation for Performance Marketing AI strategies.
• Drive Technical Roadmap: Help define the long-term technical strategy for the Data Engineering team, ensure our infrastructure is modern, cost-efficient, resilient and aligned with industry trends in Big Data and Cloud.
• Stakeholder Alignment & Discovery: You are skilled at navigating diverse perspectives to build technical consensus and uncover opportunities. You possess the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to colleagues in non-technical roles.
• Drive Business-Centric Analysis: A pply a strong analytical mindset to solve complex pipeline issues, ensuring every technical solution is designed with the intent to maximize business value.

• Technical Ownership & Strategic Thinking: You have the ability to build/scale and deliver engineering solutions at speed. You can demonstrate the technical depth to stay ahead of Big Data and Cloud infrastructure trends and the practical wisdom to apply them to complex business challenges.
• Experience in Complex Data Initiatives and Data Architecture: You provide technical guidance as well as hands on development for large-scale data initiatives (ETL/ELT & Data Modeling, data applications, reverse ETL). You are capable of delivering strategic improvements to our data ecosystem that directly impact business performance.
• Data Quality and Governance: Experience with designing and implementing solutions to mitigate data loss, implement robust data privacy standards and ensure high-level of data quality across online marketing data.
• First experience with AI: You are able to comfortably leverage AI coding assistants to enhance the quality and delivery speed of your code.
• Data Orchestration: Pr oven experience using data orchestrators like Airflow and Dagster.
• End-to-End Project Delivery: You successfully deliver high-complexity data projects involving multiple stakeholders (Data Science, Product, Marketing). You are skilled at monitoring progress and mitigating timeline or technical risks in a fast-paced environment.
• Agile Mindset: Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. You are comfortable with iterative development, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to deliver incremental value in a fast-paced setting.
• Mentorship & Feedback: You e ffectively give and receive feedback, including code reviews and data model deep dives. You enjoy mentoring other team members, coaching them to upgrade their technical skills and grow to the next level.
• Strategic Communication: You can communicate complex data concepts and technical architectures to both technical and business stakeholders, establishing alignment within the broader organization.
• Analytical Mindset: You possess a strong analytical mindset, proactively using data to validate hypotheses, ensure data quality and solve intricate problems. You don't just build pipelines; you understand the business value of the data moving through them.
• Team Player: You enjoy collaborating and sharing your skills and knowledge with others. You thrive in a multicultural environment and value diverse perspectives.
• Language Proficiency: You are proficient in English, allowing you to work and communicate effectively in our global and diverse workspace.

Good to have

• Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as Vertex AI or other AI-powered coding assistants e.g. CLine or Copilot, to accelerate development and debugging.
• AI-Driven Data Solutions: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into data engineering workflows (e.g., automated data cleaning, anomaly detection, or predictive schema mapping).
• Data Infrastructure for AI: Beyond utilizing AI productivity tools, you understand how to design data pipelines and structures optimized for AI products (e.g., via Vertex AI).
• Experimentation Mindset: A proactive desire to test new technologies and frameworks. You view "AI-First" not just as a goal, but as a tool to enhance productivity and unlock new data capabilities.
• Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features, LLM capabilities, and evolving data proces sing standards.
