Job summary

Amazon's AWS division is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician – Water Engineer to ensure reliable operation of water treatment and chemical processes across its data center fleet. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting of water equipment, RO systems, disinfection, and cooling water loops within mission-critical facilities.

Key responsibilities include developing preventive maintenance, SOP alignment, and performance benchmarking while coordinating with field engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations.
• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Extensive knowledge of water treatment technologies and processes.
• Experience with industrial water system design and operation.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, fluid mechanics, and water distribution network design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for water system infrastructure and chemical treatments.
• Oversee critical systems including ultrafiltration, RO, and oxidant systems.
• Develop Legionella prevention programs.
• Implement Water Utilization Efficiency improvements.
• Create and implement SOPs/MOPs/EOPs and maintain records.
