RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

  1. Oversee the resort’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, software, and hardware.
  2. Ensure the security and integrity of the hotel’s data and systems.
  3. Manage and maintain hotel management systems (PMS), point-of-sale systems (POS), and other hotel-related software.
  4. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both hotel staff and guests.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to enhance technological integration and optimise the guest experience.
  6. Conduct regular system audits and updates.
  7. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and data protection laws.
  8. Manage IT budgets and vendor relationships.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Passionate about hospitality and an enthusiastic demeanor, with a desire to represent the OKU philosophy in your professional environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of hotel management systems (PMS, POS, CRM, etc.).
  3. Expertise in network administration, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
  4. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and effectively.
  5. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  6. Fluency in English and Spanish; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  1. Proven leadership skills in a hotel/resort environment and empathy, exceptional communication, and attention to detail.
  2. Vendor management: Liaising with external IT providers, maintenance companies, software licensing partners, etc.
  3. Proactive and solution-oriented attitude: Anticipating problems and responding swiftly when issues arise.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  1. Strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly, identify solutions and implement effective resolutions.
  2. Hospitality Technology Trends – Familiarity with smart room automation, digital check-ins, keyless entry, guest experience apps.
  3. Compliance & Regulations – Understanding GDPR, PCI-DSS, and other data security regulations.
