We are hiring for a Business Development Manager. This exciting opportunity will cover Spain & Portugal. The person is responsible for the maintenance of existing customers as well as the development of new and potential customers in the assigned territory. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and best in industry products at competitive prices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and build detailed profile of assigned markets and market sub-segments in conjunction with relevant territory Business Development Director.
  2. Leverage all available tools, in particular social media but also formal insights / reports / publications, and market contacts to profile market and identify opportunities.
  3. Liaise with product management, R&D; and quality functions in the development of new projects / opportunities.
  4. Maintain and develop relationships and business with existing customers.
  5. Travel to customers for in person meetings to promote new products, enhance customer relationships, address any product queries and ensure we are offering full product portfolio.
  6. Responsible for the development and direction of customer strategy and activation plans.
  7. Prepare sales quotes, negotiate pricing and provide business solutions to effectively close sales.
  8. Maintain strong and up to date knowledge on full product portfolio and applications.
  9. Stay current with latest industry news and trends by involvement in industry events, tradeshows, social outings, seminars, memberships in industry organizations and magazine subscriptions.
  10. Liaise with customer service and other internal functions on all customer related queries.
  11. Review all available internal data to track and monitor financial and operational performance including but limited to volume and profitability data.
  12. Work with customers to develop robust and accurate forecasts and present these forecasts internally in order to support the Company’s financial and supply chain forecasting process.

The Skills you will bring to the team:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Food / Nutrition Science or Sales & Marketing with Technical background or equivalent.
  2. Prior experience gained managing an established customer base in a similar role within FMCG / Food Industry.
  3. Strong commercial acumen and ambition to grow and develop new business.
  4. Results focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team and organizational goals.
  5. Ability to work in a team environment and possess team-based problem solving skills.
  6. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, customers and vendors with the utmost professionalism.
  7. Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours to include overtime when needed.

Language, Computer & Numeracy:

  1. Excellent verbal and written skills in Spanish and English.
  2. Functional verbal and written skills in French a distinct advantage.
  3. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  4. Experience of and comfortable interacting with LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
