Nscale seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering for North America to own the electrical basis of design and governance across its U.S. data center portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission‑critical facilities.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of data center electrical systems, MV/LV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, and commissioning practices.
• Experience with U.S. AHJs and local codes variations.
• Decision‑making capability in high‑consequence scenarios.
• Risk‑based leadership suited to fast‑paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept, schematic, and detailed design reviews for new builds and expansions.
• Establish and maintain electrical design standards and reference architectures for repeatable deployment in the U.S.
• Ensure designs meet availability, efficiency, safety targets for high‑density AI workloads.
• Provide engineering support through procurement, submittals, RFIs, field changes during construction.
• Lead electrical due diligence for colocation sites and site acquisitions.
