Job summary

GBfoods is seeking an R&D professional to drive hands-on technical transformation in the Noodles category, spending substantial time in the lab and pilot plant for prototyping and pilot trials.

You will collaborate with Project Manager, Nutrition and Costing teams, and ensure recipes meet nutritional and cost targets, with strong sensory evaluation to validate ingredients and finished products.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Food Science, Technology or Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or related studies.
• 1-2 years of experience in R&D within the food industry or in a similar role.
• Fluent in English & Spanish (Italian, German, French and Dutch valuable).
• This position is based at the Rubi Technology Center.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to bring new noodle products from concept to reality.
• Design, plan, and personally execute lab-scale prototyping (formulation, cooking/processing trials, sensory pre-screening) for new products and process improvements.
• Lead and actively participate in pilot plant trials, including equipment set-up, trial protocols, in-process sampling, and troubleshooting on the line.
• Identify and implement solutions for reliable prototyping when dedicated facilities are not available, such as external labs, co-manufacturers, or adapted line trials.
• Document trials rigorously (protocols, results, deviations, learnings) and maintain technical records to support decision-making and knowledge transfer.
• Validate nutritional and cost targets together with the Nutrition and Costing teams before initiating lab trials, to avoid late-stage rework.
