Job summary

General Mills in Navarra, Spain, seeks an R&D Technician I to support bench development and commercialization of innovation and renovation projects for international Snacks & Meals. You will contribute hands-on in the pilot plant, help maintain GMPs, 5S, and safety standards, and perform related admin tasks.

You will collaborate with suppliers to improve ingredients, document specifications, and assist in line trials and startup activities, with travel as needed to the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Support the team to develop bench product prototypes of new and improved products in the pilot plant.

• Collaborate with ingredient suppliers to improve ingredient quality, define ingredient specs and alignment on analytical methods for characterization
• Build ingredients and finished product specs and document them in the specifications systems.
• Support the team in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the pilot plant GMPs, 5S methodology and Food and People safety policies.
• Conduct administrative tasks to enable smooth team operation: Documentation support: invoices, PO management, shipments, customs procedures…

FUNCTION/POSITION OVERVIEW

Our international Snacks & Meals business is growing and needs an R&D Technician I to support the growth of the business by collaborating with the team during the development and commercialization of innovation and renovation projects.

In this role you will provide benchtop support to develop new products for the international Snacks & Meals business. These projects are key to delivering our growth ambitions for FY27 and beyond. This position is primarily focused on the hands‑on development and execution. You will also support the team in the maintenance of GMPs, 5S, Food and People Safety Standards, and general administrative task.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the team to develop bench product prototypes of new and improved products in the pilot plant.
• Enable the commercialization of new products by supporting the execution of line trials and start‑up of new products and new lines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• ‘Formación Profesional de Grado Superior en Industria Alimentaria’ or similar
• 1+ year experience in food industry
• High bias for action and ability to execute tasks with speed and accuracy
• Strong team collaboration skills, flexibility and agility
• Comfortable with ambiguity and fast changing priorities

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCES

• 1+ years of experience in quality labs and R&D pilot plant/lab support
• Fluent in English
• Own vehicle and availability to travel to the workplace.

DEVELOPMENT CANDIDATE WILL RECEIVE IN THE ROLE

• Deep knowledge of ingredients and technologies used in meals products
• Product formulation and industrialization of high‑quality products
• Benchtop and commercialization experience with coaching from experienced team
• Strong support for career development through employee-manager partnerships.
  

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is:

€22,000 - €27,000 Annual
