A leading technology company is seeking a Naval Engineer to drive the design and development of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) at its headquarters in Madrid. The role includes leading projects from concept through compliance with industry standards, requiring a Master's degree in Naval Engineering and significant relevant experience.

In ARQUIMEA AEROSPACE DEFENCE & SECURITY develops safer and more reliable defense systems through technology, including unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), sensing systems, command and control software, and aiming systems .

We are looking for a Naval Engineer to lead the Design and development of small and medium size USVs, including hull, on board components and systems and control algorithms.

Tasks to be performed :

  • Lead the technical development of USV programs , ensuring compliance with project requirements, defence standards, and industry regulations.
  • Design and validate motorized vessel concepts , including hull structure, propulsion systems, sensors and onboard integration.
  • Design and validate navigation and control algorithms, according to requirements and standards.
  • Define and supervise the execution of technical documentation : drawings, specifications, technical reports, and interface documents; cooperating with Production department for products industrialization.
  • Coordinate technical activities with internal departments (engineering, production, procurement, quality) and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk analysis, and systems integration assessments.
  • Stablish procedures and best practices for naval design.
  • Support activities, including trials, testing, and acceptance procedures with partners.
  • Promote technical excellence and innovation within naval projects.

Required skills, experience and candidate profile :

  • Master’s degree in Naval Engineering , with background in naval weapons systems or similar.
  • Proficient in naval CAD and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf).
  • Familiarity with defence sector and technical project management in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of naval manufacturing processes and technics.
  • Ability to prepare and review complex technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with autonomous naval systems.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with a proactive and structured approach.
  • 8 years of experience.
  • Desirable previous experience in naval weapons systems
  • Desirable previous experience in the defence sector.
  • Proven experience in defence or dual-use naval projects is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with autonomous naval systems is highly desirable.

The position is located in our Headquarters of Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).
