ARQUIMEA is looking for a Naval Engineer to lead the design of unmanned surface vessels (USVs) at their headquarters in Torrejón de Ardoz. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Naval Engineering and extensive experience in the defense sector, focusing on the development of reliable naval systems. Responsibilities include overseeing design projects, ensuring compliance with standards, and working collaboratively with multiple departments.

At ARQUIMEA Aerospace, Defense & Security, we develop safer and more reliable defense systems through technology, including unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), sensing systems, command and control software, and aiming systems.

We are seeking a Naval Engineer to lead the design and development of small and medium-sized USVs, including hull on-board components, systems, and control algorithms.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development of USV programs, ensuring compliance with project requirements, defense standards, and industry regulations.
  • Design and validate motorized vessel concepts, including hull structure, propulsion systems, sensors, and onboard integration.
  • Design and validate navigation and control algorithms according to requirements and standards.
  • Define and supervise the execution of technical documentation, such as drawings, specifications, technical reports, and interface documents; collaborate with the Production department for product industrialization.
  • Coordinate technical activities with internal departments (engineering, production, procurement, quality) and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk analysis, and systems integration assessments.
  • Establish procedures and best practices for naval design.
  • Support activities including trials, testing, and acceptance procedures with partners.
  • Promote technical excellence and innovation within naval projects.

Requirements and Candidate Profile:

  • Master's degree in Naval Engineering, with a background in naval weapons systems or similar.
  • Proficient in naval CAD and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf).
  • Familiarity with the defense sector and technical project management in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of naval manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Ability to prepare and review complex technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with autonomous naval systems.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with a proactive and structured approach.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Desirable: previous experience in naval weapons systems, defense sector, defense or dual-use naval projects, and autonomous naval systems.

The position is located at our headquarters in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).
