Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

MTDC Sales Manager, Southern Europe (m / f / d)

Purpose of Position:

The Multi-Tenant Data Center (MTDC) markets continue to grow as enterprise, hyperscale and AI companies choose to lease space and potentially infrastructure rather than building their own data centers. The position shall maximize sales for Corning Optical Communications in this segment in the France & Southern Europe region.

Location and Reporting:

The position will be located in any major Southern European city with significant MTDC presence, such as Milan, Marseille, Madrid or Barcelona. The territory to be covered for this position will be France and Southern Europe. Travel will be at least 50% and the position will require the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.

The position reports to the Sales Director Europe, IBN / DC EMEA.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets for the MTDC France & Southern Europe region.
  • Develop, document, implement and track account plans for specific MTDC accounts; present progress updates to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Account management of a few major MTDC accounts operating in Europe. For other MTDC accounts, coordinate sales activities for France and Southern Europe with the local sales teams.
  • Coordinate the Europe account strategies very closely with the Global MTDC sales team in the US.
  • Leverage the entire MTDC ecosystem (e.g. end-customers, distributors, integrators, consultants) to build a network that can identify opportunities at an early stage.
  • Maintain project pipeline and account plans in SFDC-database and provide regular forecasts.
  • Establish and drive initiatives targeted at the MTDC market together with the other internal functions (i.e. Marketing, Market Development, Product Line Management, Supply Chain Management and Operations) to improve our total value proposition for this market segment.

Requirements:

  • Technical University Degree or appropriate professional / sales experience.
  • Experience in developing new business with an international client base.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A result-driven self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Very good organization skills and structured approach.
  • French, Italian or Spanish spoken plus excellent English language skills.
  • Willingness for frequent international business travel (at least 50% of the time).
