Job Description
Reporting to the Medical Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all activities and interactions comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies, and standards.
- Providing scientific and technical leadership to foster credible relationships with strategic thought leaders and external experts.
- Establishing a strong medical and scientific presence in key academic centers through research and educational initiatives, supporting requests for medical and scientific information.
- Assisting in the initiation, oversight, and follow-up of clinical studies and medical projects within the therapeutic area, ensuring compliance with all regulations and SOPs.
- Acting as a liaison with thought leaders to facilitate investigator-initiated studies and support requests.
- Serving as a contact point for external experts to address their scientific needs and support the safe and effective use of AbbVie medicines.
- Delivering credible scientific presentations to physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Participating in the selection of qualified thought leaders for collaborative efforts and ensuring scientific integrity.
- Gathering and communicating medical field intelligence to inform strategic priorities.
- Attending scientific meetings and conferences, and summarizing relevant data for internal use.
- Supporting physicians with access requests for medicines under legal and regulatory compliance.
- Assisting internal teams to enhance their scientific knowledge through updates and presentations.
- Providing scientific support for publications and medical interest initiatives.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) preferred; relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience.
- Knowledge of the therapeutic area and medical research processes.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical environment and Medical Affairs role.
- Expertise in clinical research methods and regulatory controls.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong commitment to compliance and scientific integrity.
- Fluency in English.
