Brief description of the institution:

The University of Granada (UGR), founded in 1531, is one of the largest and most important universities in Spain. With approximately 54,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and more than 6,000 staff members, the UGR offers over 90 undergraduate degrees, 157 master’s degrees (including 7 international double degrees), and 28 doctoral programs across 124 departments and nearly 50 centers. Brief description of the Centre/Research Group:

The research group "Spatial Dynamics and Inequalities in Andalusia" (DEYOTA) HUM355, part of the Department of Human Geography, focuses on socio-spatial inequalities and land planning. Led by Juan Carlos Maroto Martos, members include José Antonio Cañete Pérez, Eugenio Cejudo García, Francisco Antonio Navarro Valverde, and Aida Pinos Navarrete.

The project "Resilience of rural areas to tackle depopulation in the COVID time" continues previous research on rural development and depopulation. It aims to diagnose depopulation in various rural contexts using economic, social, and quality of life indicators, and analyze the impact of policies and local initiatives to address population decline.

The team has extensive experience in national and international projects, ensuring successful outcomes and dissemination of results.
