Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) in Badalona seeks a Laboratory Technician with molecular biology experience to support the DM1-Hub project in the Neuromuscular Research Group (GRENBA). You will handle sample intake, DNA extraction, and sequencing prep under researcher guidance.

The role requires health sciences background and English proficiency, with a focus on quality, traceability, and collaborative teamwork in a translational research setting at Campus Can Ruti.

Formación

• Degree in health sciences or related field.
• High level of spoken and written English.
• 1 year of molecular biology research experience.
• Experience handling blood samples and basic molecular techniques.
• Experience with long-read sequencing technologies will be valued.

Responsabilidades

• Receive and organize biological samples from hospitals for the DM1-Hub project.
• Classify, process, and store blood samples with traceability.
• Perform DNA extraction following established protocols.
• Prepare genetic material for long-read sequencing and perform quality control.
• Carry out DNA extraction, quantification, and validation with autonomy under supervision.
• Contribute to workflow evaluation and documentation of results.
• Prepare technical records and reports ensuring quality and traceability.
• Maintain databases for sample reception, processing, and storage.
• Assist in preparing internal technical documents and procedures.
• Participate in project meetings, training, and scientific events.
