IGTP in Badalona invites a laboratory technician with molecular biology experience to join the DM1-Hub project in the Neuromuscular Research Group. The role focuses on sample handling, DNA extraction, QC for long-read sequencing, and data recording in a multidisciplinary translational setting.

The successful candidate will work at Campus Can Ruti, within a top-tier research centre, and contribute to quality-assured workflows while collaborating across teams.

Formación

• Degree in health sciences.
• High level of spoken and written English.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• At least 1 year of molecular biology research experience.
• Experience handling blood samples and basic molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR).
• Experience with long-read sequencing technologies (Oxford Nanopore, PacBio) valued.
• Organized, proactive, enthusiastic, and a team player.

Responsabilidades

• Receive, register, and organize biological samples from hospitals in the DM1-Hub project.
• Classify, process, and store blood samples with proper records and traceability.
• Perform DNA extraction following established protocols.
• Prepare genetic material and conduct QC for long-read sequencing.
• Carry out DNA extraction, quantification, validation, and related sample processing.
• Contribute to evaluation and optimization of laboratory workflows and documentation.
• Prepare technical records and reports with quality and traceability.
• Maintain databases for sample reception, processing, storage, tracking.
• Contribute to technical documents and experimental procedures.
• Participate in meetings, training, and scientific events.
