Air Apps, a fast-growing SaaS company, seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer in Barcelona to design and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure. You will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and automation across production systems, with on-call rotations.

The role requires strong leadership, deep cloud, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), scripting (Bash/Python/PowerShell), and excellent problem-solving in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or sysadmin roles.
• Experience designing and managing AWS-based cloud infra.
• Strong containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• IaC with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Solid networking, security, and monitoring knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication; leadership ability.
• Fluent English; Catalan/Spanish a plus; willing to hybrid in Barcelona.

This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments primarily on AWS. You will be responsible for automating infrastructure deployment, optimizing system performance, and ensuring the reliability of our production systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust cloud infrastructure, primarily using AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, etc.).
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate operational tasks, monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems.
• Ensure the security, availability, and performance of cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues efficiently.
• Develop and enforce best practices for cloud architecture, security, and operations.
• Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers and other technical team members.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending new tools and techniques.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Administration roles.
• Proven expertise in designing, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and mentor others.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Catalan or Spanish is a plus.
