Job summary

Air Apps, a fast-growing SaaS company, seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer in Barcelona to design and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure. You will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and automation across production systems, with on-call rotations.

The role requires strong leadership, deep cloud, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), scripting (Bash/Python/PowerShell), and excellent problem-solving in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or sysadmin roles.
• Experience designing and managing AWS-based cloud infra.
• Strong containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• IaC with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Solid networking, security, and monitoring knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication; leadership ability.
• Fluent English; Catalan/Spanish a plus; willing to hybrid in Barcelona.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.
• Implement and manage IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate monitoring, logging, and on-call alerting for production.
• Ensure security, availability, and performance of cloud environments.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and collaborate with teams.
• Stay current with cloud tech and evaluate new tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support.
• Optimize system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with development and QA to streamline delivery.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and enforce best practices.
