Formación

• 3+ years of QA experience in a complex and agile environment.

The Whitespace Platform went live in August 2019. It is a truly digital platform used by brokers and underwriters in the London market to agree the terms of insurance contracts, including writing and signing lines and issuing endorsements.

The QA Analyst will support Whitespace in continuing to provide quality software to an ever-growing customer base. Thorough and imaginative testing is critical to the success of the Platform. Whitespace takes pride in delivering an excellent, intuitive customer experience at a pace its competitors cannot match.

This role requires someone who can grow and adapt with the company, who is eager to learn and progress a career within the Platform team. Full training on in-house and industry specific systems will be provided.

Responsibilities

Testing

1. Scripted end to end testing of existing functionality, where that functionality is not yet incorporated into automated test scripts.
2. Validation of issues found whilst testing existing functionality to determine whether they are regressions or pre-existing issues.
3. Scripted end to end testing of new functionality.
4. Exploratory testing based on business scenarios.
5. Initial testing of new functionality following first release from development.
6. Re-testing of issues as and when fixes become available.
7. Capturing testing evidence (including replication / exploratory test steps, screen shots, videos, etc) in line with Whitespace testing guidelines.
8. Discussing issues with Business Analysts / Head of Customer Experience to validate any business scenario or Platform behaviour queries.
9. Discussions issues with QA’s where required to establish if the issue is valid or not.
10. Raising issues in the appropriate systems and ensuring they comply with Whitespace issue logging guidelines.
11. Performing automation and API testing when required.

Testing Script Preparation, Update and Maintenance

1. Liaising with Business Analysts and preparing new test scripts as and when required to cover new functional enhancements.
2. Extending and / or updating existing test scripts to better reflect more in-depth business scenarios identified as gaps or lacking sufficient coverage.

Insurance Knowledge

1. Explain complex insurance concepts to fellow QA’s to help them understand why a new piece of functionality has been implemented and why it is working in a particular manner.
2. Field questions from fellow QA’s in relation to specific behaviours and how it might affect end users.

Other Responsibilities

1. Familiarisation with new functional requirements and ensuring that business drivers and business requirements are properly understood.
2. Writing Automated testing using Cypress & Selenium for Web Applications.
3. APPIUM for IOS.
4. Documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results.
5. Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team on the status of quality.
6. RestAssured, Java, TypeScript, Jenkins – to deliver efficient and reliable automated tests.
7. Discuss with analysts and designers the details of the implementation so that the changes work for our users.
8. Collaborate with other developers to plan the implementation across the platform and review code changes.
9. When requested, involvement in the preparation of :

Compliance & Training

1. Adhere to all company & regulatory policies and procedures as instructed.
2. Carry out all training provided to deadlines prescribed.
3. Work with compliance on IT relevant areas such as Data Security and Financial Crime.
4. Execute the responsibilities of a company employee acting in a lawful and ethical manner in accordance with your contract of employment and company staff handbook.
5. Work with department manager for own professional development, including performance appraisal and identifying and meeting training needs in order to ensure competence and compliance with current regulations.

Qualifications

1. At least 3 years of QA experience in a complex and agile environment.
2. Degree or equivalent qualification.
3. Professional Insurance Qualifications not required but nice to have.
4. Experience in API and integration testing.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Reliable, with a strong work ethic.
8. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
9. Good organisational and time management skills.
10. Insurance knowledge.
11. Experience of application testing and / or user-acceptance testing.
12. Testing methodologies.
13. Knowledge of the London and other insurance markets.
