About H2SITE: H2SITE is a deep-tech start-up that uses advanced membrane reactor technology to solve the hydrogen transport problem by converting hydrogen carriers with well-known supply chains and separating hydrogen gas blends into fuel cell purity hydrogen. Founded in 2020 in Bilbao, Spain, it emerged as a spin-off from two renowned research and development centers in collaboration with ENGIE New Ventures as its first industrial investor: TECNALIA, the largest private research center in Southern Europe specializing in membranes and material sciences among other fields, and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe), a reference in process intensification. Headquartered in Bilbao, the company employs over 60 team members in its unique membrane production facilities located in Loiu, Spain.
Mission: As a Metal Membrane Laboratory Technician, you will focus on developing advanced membranes designed specifically for the efficient separation of hydrogen from other gases, aiming to enhance performance and selectivity for sustainable energy applications and industrial processes.
Functions:
- Prepare chemical formulations, including both solid and liquid reagents.
- Use mechanical equipment for the manufacturing of the membranes.
- Carry out surface deposition processes.
- Conduct thermal treatments during the fabrication process.
- Perform quality control of produced membranes: visual inspection and surface characterization, leak test, N2 flux, etc.
- Conduct other chemical characterizations: Measure concentration of reagents by ICP, valorizations, etc.
- Utilize minor laboratory equipment: balance, ultrasonic bath, stirring baths, pH meter, etc.
- Conduct performance tests at the company test benches using gas mixtures and testing membrane’s performance.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Professional training: Técnico superior en laboratorio de análisis y control de calidad or Técnico superior de análisis y control químico or other similar qualifications related to laboratory/chemistry duties.
- Desirable education: B2 level of communication skills.
- Professional Experience: At least 2 years of previous experience in R&D laboratories related to industry applications.
- Previous experience with surface deposition techniques.
- Experience with maintenance of industrial equipment is a plus.
