Role Purpose

As a Messaging Solutions Expert for selected Messaging environments, you will collaborate with architects to generate domain-level design and requirement specifications, transforming proof-of-concepts into customer-quality software products, and leading Messaging projects. This role is critical for customer perception and will directly influence the success and reputation of Vodafone’s Messaging offerings and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Messaging Solution Design & Implementation
   Collaborate with solution architects to define technical architecture for Messaging platforms. Convert high-level requirements and proof-of-concepts into scalable, production-grade solutions. Write and maintain technical documentation and specifications.
2. Project & Program Management
   Lead or support strategic projects in centralized messaging infrastructure. Coordinate activities across vendors, stakeholders, and regional teams. Present project status, risks, and outcomes to senior management.
3. Technology Evolution & Innovation
   Drive platform modernization through NFV, containerization, and cloud-native technologies. Evaluate emerging technologies and propose enhancements. Support harmonization and hosting initiatives across Europe.
4. Release Management & Quality Assurance
   Ensure end-to-end testing and certification of new releases. Manage software upgrades and integration, ensuring quality and compliance with Vodafone standards.
5. Operations & Support
   Provide second-line support for operations. Lead troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvements. Automate tasks to streamline processes.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration
   Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring messaging solutions meet needs and regulations. Support platforms like VCS Hub, SMS Firewall, and MMS.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Messaging platforms or Core/VAS services in telecom environments.
• Strong expertise in protocols such as SS7/SIGTRAN, SMPP, Diameter, SIP, RTP.
• Experience with VMware, OpenStack, NFV, and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of IMS architecture and Core Network technologies.
• Experience in HW/SW integration, testing, and release management.
• Fluent in English; excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of DevOps tools and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with Open APIs and Digital Ecosystems.
• Experience in multinational telecom environments.
