Celtarys Research is currently hiring a Medicinal Chemist – Principal Scientist PhD

Celtarys Research, an early-stage biotech company based in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, develops and commercializes innovative fluorescence-based chemical tools to enhance drug discovery. We are seeking a PhD with expertise in Medicinal Chemistry.

Responsibilities include:

• Conceptualization, design, and execution of internal development projects, funded projects, and custom development of fluorescent probes for specific targets using Celtarys Technology.
• Management of projects and client scientific requests.
• Application of state-of-the-art technologies related to molecular design and organic synthesis (e.g., NMR, HPLC, mass spectrometry).
• Collaborate with chemistry and biology teams locally and internationally.
• Present ideas and results internally to discuss issues, solutions, and alternatives.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry with over 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
• Extensive experience in medicinal chemistry, molecule modification, and bioactivity enhancement.
• Understanding of molecule/target interactions and biological data integration.
• Independent molecule design and organic synthesis skills, including multi-step synthesis of complex structures.
• Knowledge of biomolecule and small molecule purification and characterization techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and leadership skills.
• Responsible, goal-oriented, and able to work in multidisciplinary, fast-paced environments.
