A leading hospital in Spain is seeking a part-time Medical Oncologist specialized in gastrointestinal cancers. The role involves a clinical research fellowship with a blend of patient care and research activities, encouraging future leadership in oncology. Formación

  • Required to practice as a Specialist in Medical Oncology in Spain.

Offer Description

Position for a Medical Oncologist for the gastrointestinal cancer unit at Fundacion Jimenez Diaz University Hospital – hepato-pancreato-biliary and neuroendocrine tumours unit lead by Dr Angela Lamarca.

The candidate would have a “Clinical Research Fellowship” role with an 80% / 20% split of research and non-research activity, respectively. This activity will be mostly dedicated to hepato-pancreato-biliary and neuroendocrine tumours. This is estimated to imply two patient-care related days (one research, one standard-of-care treatment clinic) per week, with 3 days dedicated to other research activities. Most research activities are expected to have a clinical research profile.

The hepato-pancreato-biliary and neuroendocrine tumours unit holds a large number of ongoing interventional and observational studies in which the candidate will be involved. On top of this, the aim is for the candidate to be further involved in other national and international activities, toward subespecialising in the field and becomingfuture leader in this disease group.
