For our dynamic, growing, and innovative Brands division within an established international pharmaceutical company, we seek an experienced Medical Affairs field professional willing to operate beyond the typical big pharma MSL role, embracing an autonomous, entrepreneurial approach. This position offers broad development opportunities, engaging in all aspects of the business and managing your own daily work.
Working alongside another Medical Manager based in Madrid, Spain, you will be responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and execution of medical projects in Spain, while also supporting sales and marketing colleagues with a demonstrated commercial acumen. Candidates should reside in Spain (preferred locations: Andalucía – Sevilla, Malaga; Madrid; Barcelona, but other regions considered) and be fluent in English for communication with the European management team, located across Europe, with offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Major tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects, including publications and advisory boards.
- Build peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs and other influencers, utilizing evidence-based information.
- Support product development and launch in melanoma through scientific exchange.
- Assist Early Access Program requests from HCPs for melanoma patients in Spain.
- Support business activities related to marketing, commercial, and market access for Odomzo (sonidegib) for basal cell carcinoma.
- Lead processes for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress.
- Disseminate clinical and scientific information about marketed and pipeline compounds ethically and timely.
- Establish links with networks in Derma-oncology and future TAs.
- Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to HCP inquiries.
- Support colleagues in organizing HCP events with medical content.
Key Performance Indicators / result areas
- Plan and execute medical tactics for new product launches in melanoma.
- Increase awareness of sonidegib among treating Derma-oncologists and within the KOL community.
- Plan and implement national peer-to-peer programs.
- Prepare prioritized target lists.
- Develop and lead local engagement plans.
- Organize national symposia and participate in congresses.
- Create medical publications, abstracts, and posters.
- Deliver scientific presentations in hospitals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and market access.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Graduate or postgraduate (bio)medical or scientific degree.
- Driver’s license.
- Minimum 3 years of MSL or Medical Manager experience in innovative pharma.
- At least 1 year in a commercial role within pharma.
- Fluent in English.
- Desirable: Dermatology/Oncology experience and experience with Early Access Programs in Spain.
