Position: Medical Information Specialist
Location: Based in Spain (remote), supporting North America.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing unsolicited medical inquiries from eye care professionals and consumers, including intake, follow-up, documentation, and response development regarding Alcon device products.
- Providing accurate and timely responses to medical and scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.
- Utilizing approved resources and databases to ensure current and compliant information.
- Creating and updating reference documents, FAQs, and medical information materials, ensuring review and approval per company policies.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as R&D, regulatory affairs, and marketing to provide medical insights and support product development.
- Supporting medical information at professional congresses as needed.
- Reporting adverse events and product complaints according to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Staying updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in medical information.
- Maintaining knowledge of Alcon products, ocular anatomy, and related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Medical/clinical experience (MD, OD, PharmD, RN, ophthalmic surgical nurse, licensed optician, pharmaceutical experience preferred; prior medical information experience is a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree in science, pharmaceutical sciences, or equivalent education/experience.
- Multilingual: fluent in English and French; Spanish is a plus.
- 2-4 years’ experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry with customer interaction.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and response formulation.
- Proficiency in PC skills and MS Office programs.
Work Hours: 3 PM to Midnight.
