A leading company in motion control systems is seeking a talented engineer to join their industrialization team in Barcelona. The role involves collaboration on designing and verifying setups, requiring expertise in mechatronics and multidisciplinary knowledge in electronics. Formación

  • Minimum 3 years experience in mechatronic design including robot joints.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English required.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and electronic circuit technology.

Responsabilidades

  • Design, maintain and verify verification tools for R&D teams.
  • Work closely with hardware & firmware teams on new product developments.
  • Create internal documentation for setups including workflows and manuals.

We are looking for a talented, and highly motivated engineer to be part of the industrialization team. Come join a team of deeply knowledgeable engineers that strive to build the most robust and reliable motion control systems using cutting-edge development tools and practices.

The select engineer will be focused on collaborating in the design, implementation, and verification of Novanta setups. The position primarily requires expertise in mechatronics, along with a multidisciplinary knowledge in electronics and programming.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain and verify the verification tools and tooling for the R&D and V&V teams.
  • Design, maintain and verify the mechatronic test benches such as robot joints and motor benches.
  • Continuous improvement of the V&V tools using the information coming from the testing reports.
  • Work closely with hardware & firmware team during new product development to clarify the required setups to validate the design and identify possible risks (DFMEA).
  • Create internal documentation for setups (Workflows, working instructions, tool manuals, etc.).
  • Define, in conjunction with V&V team, the Test Plans for setups.

Required Experience, education and competences

  • MS o PhD in Mechatronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or technical related discipline.
  • Minimum experience 3 years
  • Experience in mechatronic design, including robot joints, with consideration for adjustable motor fixations, shaft couplings, gearboxes, and bearings.
  • Experience with CNC machining technology, including defining tolerances, surface finish, and roughness.
  • Experience with Metal Sheet Bending technology.
  • Experience with Electronic circuit technology design.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up and troubleshooting. Understand schematics and use of lab. instruments is a must.
  • Python knowledge.
  • Experience in testing procedures.
  • Fluent written and spoken Spanish / English.

Occasionally travel as needed (domestically and internationally) to suppliers and customers for support and/or installation of tools.
