Job Description:

An international company specializing in advanced industrial materials in Europe is seeking an experienced Civil/Mechanical Engineer to support a large-scale CAPEX investment in Barcelona, Spain. The role is for a freelance position lasting 12 months, with a likelihood of extension, spanning a project duration of approximately 3 years. Start date: ASAP or within 1 month. Languages required: Spanish and English (fluent).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure civil works support the structural integrity and integration of large industrial equipment.
2. Coordinate with mechanical and process teams to align civil design with operational needs.
3. Oversee construction to meet structural, vibration, and alignment specifications.
4. Manage interfaces between civil structures and process utilities, piping, and supports.
5. Validate civil readiness during commissioning for safe equipment startup.

Required Experience & Skills:

1. 8+ years in civil/mechanical engineering on major industrial CAPEX projects.
2. Strong background in foundations, structural supports, and mechanical integration.
3. Expertise in earthworks, concrete, steel, cladding, and utility coordination.
4. Proficient in quality, risk, and dynamic load management for heavy equipment.
5. Experience working with international and Spanish design teams.
6. Skilled in commissioning and resolving interface issues.
7. Fluent in Spanish and English (mandatory).
