Who we are looking for

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a startup mindset to develop casing for a near-eye display and mounts for its optical and electronic components. The main goal is to collaborate with optical and electronics engineers to integrate all near-eye display components into a next-generation product.

What you will do
  1. Mechanical Design
    • Develop casing for the near-eye display
    • Define spatial requirements, mounting, and integration methods for optical and electronic components
    • Collaborate with optical designers and electronics engineers to integrate the near-eye display
    • Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to optimize mechanical strength, weight distribution, and heat management
    • Work closely with the manufacturing team and product engineer to fulfill DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
    • Develop mounts for optical components requiring precise alignment
    • Design component housings ensuring heat dissipation and electromagnetic shielding
  2. Material Selection
    • Research and select materials with suitable mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties that are cost-effective and compatible with large-scale manufacturing
    • Manage relationships with suppliers of materials in collaboration with the product engineer and business developer
  3. Prototyping & Testing
    • Create and iterate prototypes rapidly using methods such as 3D printing
    • Run tests to validate mechanical designs
What technical skills you should have
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Fusion 360)
  • Experience with FEA / CFD simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL)
  • Strong understanding of heat management, shock resistance, and miniaturization challenges
  • Knowledge of properties of polymers, composites, and metals used in wearable and consumer electronics
  • Experience designing optomechanical and electromechanical components
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (SLA, FDM, SLS), CNC machining, and rapid prototyping
  • Understanding of large-scale manufacturing techniques (e.g., injection molding)
Educational requirements
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in consumer electronics, wearables, or AR/VR hardware
  • Proficiency in English
