Keybotic is a cutting-edge robotics startup that designs and manufactures Keyper, an autonomous robot dog for industrial inspections. With our 1st prize DARPA award-winning technology (US Government), Keyper inspects and maps without any human interaction. Keybotic is a fast-growing tech company that is shaping the future of mobile robotics across multiple industries such as chemical, security, oil and gas, and energy, among others. We’re seeking a talented and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to start working as soon as possible at our offices in Barcelona. The role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of our quadruped robot and its accessories. You will be responsible for creating robust and efficient mechanical mechanisms, assemblies, and systems that integrate with advanced robotic technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, bringing together expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop mechanisms, systems, and electromechanical assemblies for robotic applications, including structures, actuators, and motion systems.
2. Collaborate closely with the electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into complete robotic systems.
3. Prototype, test, and iterate on mechanical designs to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
4. Analyze project specifications, materials, and manufacturing methods to ensure that designs meet both functional and production objectives.
5. Use CAD tools (SolidWorks) to create detailed designs, 3D models, and engineering drawings.
6. Participate in design reviews, contributing innovative solutions and improvements.
7. Conduct simulations, stress analysis, and FEA to ensure the reliability, durability, and safety of the designs.
8. Provide technical support and troubleshooting during product development and manufacturing processes.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in robotics and mechanical design to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into our products.

Your Profile:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
2. 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or automation.
3. Proficiency with CAD software (ideally SolidWorks).
4. Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including statics, dynamics, and material properties.
5. Experience with FEA, simulations, and mechanical stress analysis tools.
6. Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.
7. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication, and injection molding.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
10. Experience with robotics, automation, or mechatronics systems is highly desirable.
