About the Job

To strengthen our Onshore Engineering Team we are looking for a Wind Engineer. In this role you will be in charge, among other tasks, of management and production of internal wind resource and energy production reports, wind farm turbine layout and energy optimization, design of site-specific measurement campaigns for wind sites, including cost / benefit assessments of different technologies.

The role could be based either in our Spanish office in Madrid or in the UK in our Edinburgh office, with flexible working policy and a hybrid working model.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assessment and delivery of all technical aspects of projects including layout definition, yield assessment, technology selection, engineering design working in team with the other departments;
  • Manage in the coordination of external consultants;
  • Perform site visits to assess the site;
  • Review third-party energy production and site conditions reports;
  • Review of Site Acceptance Reports from wind OEMs or 3rd parties;
  • Assist procurement, PM and BD managers with AEP generation;
  • Other tasks defined by the line manager.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience of development, design and construction phases of wind farms;
  • Capacity to work in an international team;
  • Pragmatic and creative problem solving;
  • Experience in working with GIS (e.g. QGIS);
  • Experience in working with Wind modelling tool (WAsP, WindPro, etc);
  • Excellent communication skills (internal and external stakeholders and partners, technical and non-technical);
  • Full clean driving license.

Educational Background

  • Degree in Engineering or Related Field.
  • Experienced in PVSyst or similar;
  • Experience in Hybrid projects (PV BESS WIND) an advantage;
  • Experience in programming languages (python or similar);
  • Experience of Quality, health and safety aspects of renewable development projects;
  • Fluent English written and spoken, Spanish / Italian / Portuguese will be a plus.
