Abacus Medicine in Madrid is seeking a Market Access Manager to drive market access strategy and build relationships with hospitals, pharmacists, and regional healthcare stakeholders across Spain. You will support product adoption and navigate hospital access processes to enable patient access to innovative therapies.

The role requires deep knowledge of the Spanish healthcare environment, strong coordination skills, and experience working with cross-functional teams in an international setting.

Formación

• Experience in Market Access, HEOR or hospital access
• Familiarity with cardiac surgery or hospital procurement processes is a plus
• Strong understanding of the Spanish healthcare system and stakeholders
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Fluent Spanish (native or equivalent) with professional English proficiency

What awaits you

As our Market Access Manager, you will drive the market access strategy, helping ensure that healthcare professionals and patients gain access to life-changing treatment solutions. We are looking for someone who understands the cardiac surgery setting and is familiar with the main stakeholders, including cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, hospital pharmacists, and purchasing committees.

In this highly visible role, you will collaborate closely with hospitals, regional healthcare stakeholders, and internal cross-functional teams to support successful product adoption and long-term market growth. You will help shape compelling economic value propositions, navigate hospital access processes, and build strong relationships across the Spanish healthcare landscape.

Depending on business needs, travel within Spain will be required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Define and implement the market access strategy in Spain.
• Interact with hospitals, pharmacists, healthcare managers, and decision-makers.
• Support hospital evaluation, inclusion, and adoption processes.
• Monitor market access dynamics and changes within the Spanish healthcare system.
• Collaborate closely with Medical, Marketing, Commercial, and Regulatory teams.
• Coordinating access and onboarding processes for partners and customers.

What you should bring

• Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Economics, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience in cardiac surgery and/or in hospital surgical environments.
• Experience with hospital purchasing processes, product evaluation processes, and non-reimbursed hospital products used in the surgical setting.
• Strong experience in Market Access, HEOR, hospital access, or related roles Preparing reports, analyses, and operational updates for management.
• Good understanding of the Spanish healthcare and hospital environment.

We also expect you to have:

• Experience working with customers, suppliers, or stakeholders in an international setting.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Spanish as your native language or fluent Spanish skills, both written and spoken. Your English skills should be fluent, and you should be willing to use them professionally.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital systems.
