Descripción del empleo

As a Rigger / Technician within this company , you will carry out the safe and efficient assembly, installation, commissioning, inspection, service, maintenance and repair of masts, booms, rigging and associated systems.

You will work as part of an experienced project team in workshops, shipyards and onboard vessels, including regular work aloft.

Initially, the role will have a strong DynaRig focus, supporting ground assembly, stepping, testing, commissioning and sail-trial activities for new projects, together with service and maintenance work across the established DynaRig fleet.

The role is not DynaRig-exclusive; you will also be expected to support conventional rigging projects, race-yacht work and other service activities across the wider organisational fleet.

We are open to candidates from varied hands-on backgrounds.

Professional rigging experience is valuable, but strong mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, composite or marine-service skills will also be considered.

The key requirements are practical ability, a safety-first approach, sound problem solving, and a willingness to develop across different rig and vessel systems.

Main Responsibilities

Support the ground assembly, stepping, testing, commissioning, sail trials and handover of new DynaRig projects.

Install, align, adjust and maintain rigging, mechanical components and associated equipment in accordance with drawings, work instructions, and agreed tolerances.

Assist with electrical, hydraulic, sensor, control and composite-related tasks within the limits of your competence and under the direction of the relevant specialist where required.

Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, work packs and checklists, raising practical or technical issues early.

Prepare tools, equipment, materials, and work areas so tasks can be completed safely and efficiently.

Service, Maintenance & Work Aloft

Carry out planned and reactive inspection, service, maintenance and repair work on masts, booms, standing and running rigging, deck interfaces and associated systems.

Work safely and confidently aloft using approved rope-access or working-at-height systems, procedures and rescue arrangements.

Investigate defects, identify likely causes and contribute practical repair or replacement solutions with Project Managers, designers and specialist technicians.

Dismantle, inspect, clean, service, repair, replace and reassemble components while protecting the vessel, rig and surrounding finishes.

Support conventional rig stepping, tuning, rigging replacement, hardware installation and other fleet-service work as required.

Quality, Safety & Customer Care

Follow project risk assessments, method statements, permit systems, quality requirements and company working-aloft procedures.

Complete inspection records, checklists, time sheets, photographs and clear work reports, so project status and technical findings are properly documented.

Maintain tools, lifting equipment, PPE and work areas in a safe, serviceable, and professional condition.

Communicate clearly with Project Managers, colleagues, vessel crews, shipyards, suppliers and subcontractors.

Represent the company professionally on every site and contribute to a positive, practical, and collaborative team environment.

Travel internationally and work extended periods on site or onboard when project requirements demand it.

  • IRATA Level 1 or above, or another recognised rope-access or working-at-height qualification, is preferred.

Candidates without a current qualification must be willing and able to complete the training required for the role.

  • A practical understanding of hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, fasteners, lifting operations and safe component handling.
  • Experience with yacht rigs, carbon-fibre products, marine systems or high-value technical equipment is advantageous, but strong transferable trade experience will be considered.
  • The ability to read technical information, follow controlled work instructions and accurately record completed work and technical findings.
  • Professional-level English, a valid driving licence and the ability to travel internationally.
