At Boomerang, we are currently seeking a Managing Director Sales for a manufacturing company. This position holds full responsibility for the sales and marketing functions and plays a key role in developing and implementing sales strategies aligned with the group’s overall objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maximizing revenue by identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships.
- Expanding the company’s market presence both in Spain and internationally through new product launches and strategic partnerships.
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction to build long-term loyalty.
- Managing the sales budget, controlling costs, and driving profitable growth.
- Monitoring sales performance metrics, refining strategies based on outcomes, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.
Operational Tasks
- Consistent implementation of the corporate strategy.
- Compliance with and further development of the corporate philosophy (values, code of business, etc. = trusting and fair working environment).
- Operational and strategic management and further development of the area of responsibility.
- Increasing efficiency, profitability and achievement of corporate and departmental goals.
- Preparing and adhering to the budget and key figures for the area of responsibility.
- Approval of requisitions and signature authorization as defined (signature guideline).
- Responsibility for occupational safety, fire safety, information security and data protection in the division and for subordinate managers and employees.
Function-related Tasks
- Ensuring the achievement of defined sales targets and continuous sales growth.
- Responsible for the Iberian region (Spain + Portugal) and international exports.
- Identifying market potential, trends and competitive developments to position the company.
- Managing all sales activities to open new markets and customer segments.
- Establishing, maintaining and developing long-term business relationships with key customers.
- Coordinating and supporting the sales teams and optimizing sales processes in national and international markets.
- Personnel responsibility for the sales team, including coaching, motivation and performance management.
- Managing and optimizing incoming orders to ensure continuous business development.
- Ensuring profitable business transactions through targeted pricing and sales measures.
- Introducing and improving digital sales and CRM systems to increase efficiency.
- Close coordination with product management, marketing and production to optimize the product portfolio and market strategy.
- Representing the company at trade fairs and networking events to strengthen market presence.
- Ensuring efficient budget utilization and a sales strategy that conserves resources.
- Responsible to grow Product Portfolio of multiple Brands within the region and meeting growth target of each brand.
Management Tasks
- Cooperative and appreciative leadership of employees to promote their personal responsibility and creativity and thus also the company's image as an attractive employer.
- Proactively shaping team development and employee coaching.
- Personnel development and further training for employees, including reviewing the effectiveness of the training courses completed.
- Conducting and ensuring company employee appraisals (e.g. annual bonus, health appraisals, etc.) in close cooperation with and support from the HR department.
- Employee motivation, employee induction, working time planning, staff appraisals, vacation planning, further training planning.
- Personnel tasks in compliance with the law and internal regulations - in consultation with the disciplinary superior and HR.
- Recruitment, staff appraisal, staff development, transfers, warnings, dismissals, warnings and references - in consultation with the disciplinary line manager and HR.
- Targeted communication from management to employees and from employees to management.
Education
Successfully completed studies with a commercial or technical background or comparable professional training with relevant professional experience.
Competencies and experience
- Many years of management experience in national and international sales, ideally in the field of tools, machines or technical capital goods.
- Ability to develop and implement sales strategies with a focus on growth and profitability.
- Experience in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships and in supporting key accounts.
- Successful track record in B2B multi-step distribution and multi-brand selling.
- Knowledge of modern CRM systems, e-commerce and digital sales strategies.
- Understanding of key business figures (EBIT, sales, margin, incoming orders) to manage the business.
- Experience in international business, particularly in market development and the establishment of sales partnerships.
- Ability to conduct success-oriented and sustainable contract negotiations with customers, suppliers and partners.
- Confident handling of MS Office programs.
- Fluent Spanish and business fluent English, other foreign languages are advantageous.
