Descripción del empleo

Join us in driving innovations and be part of our growth in Spain to help groundbreaking startups and researchers secure funding and bring their ideas to life. Engage with CEOs, university leaders, and pioneering entrepreneurs working in cutting-edge fields.

As a Managing Consultant in Spain, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of cutting-edge innovations. Your expertise in crafting winning proposals, securing funding, and leading teams will help our clients bring their visionary projects to life.

At Catalyze, we strive to accelerate innovations that have a positive impact on the world.

The development of disruptive innovations is a complex process, taking many years and requiring substantial funds. While many great relevant innovative ideas and technologies are emerging at an accelerating rate, it often proves difficult for academics and early-stage companies to make the translation from lab to the market. Questions like “How to position the innovation in the market best?”, “How to obtain funding for the next development step?”, and “With whom can I collaborate to lift my innovation to the next level?” are all essential on the road to success.

Who we are

Catalyze is a leading consultancy company that drives the success of meaningful innovations in Life Sciences & Health, Green & Sustainable Innovations, and Industrial & Digital Tech. With over 20 years of experience in strategy and funding consultancy, we support our clients throughout their innovation journey to bring their groundbreaking innovations to life. Our clients include world-leading experts and entrepreneurial minds working on cutting-edge innovations, placing us at the forefront of technological advancements and fostering a highly inspiring environment for growth.

Join us in accelerating positive global impact.

Spain Team

The Spain Team, established in 2024 and based in Barcelona (Sarria-Sant Gervasi), is a growing, dynamic unit. You will join a highly qualified team, including our Country Manager and an Innovation Consultant, collaborating closely with colleagues in the Netherlands to drive global impact. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and expanding division, where your contributions will directly influence business development in Spain’s innovation ecosystem. While our Spain-based consultants are currently integrated into our Netherlands teams, we aim to establish a dedicated Spain consultancy team by the end of 2025.

MANAGING CONSULTANT

We are seeking applicants with fluency in both Spanish and English, and experience in team leadership.

As a Managing Consultant, you will lead and guide a team of approximately 6 innovation consultants to create impact for our clients and society. You will serve as a role model in Innovation Consultancy at Catalyze and play a crucial role in enhancing organizational performance. You will work closely with our Country Manager in Spain to expand Catalyze's market presence.

You should have the ability to identify key challenges in our clients’ innovation development paths, define suitable projects to overcome these challenges, and leverage your expertise in innovation consultancy. Building and maintaining an active network of clients and generating new business opportunities are essential. You will act as a 'team optimizer' and 'performance enhancer,' responsible for the overall performance of the team and aligning operations with our mission while ensuring high-quality client service.

Responsibilities

  2. Performance Management: Oversee team performance and results, monitor outcomes, and implement strategies to optimize productivity and meet organizational goals.
  3. Planning and Resource Allocation: Strategically assign projects to maximize team output.
  4. Personal Development and Engagement: Foster continuous learning and support team members’ career growth.
  5. Quality Assurance and Operational Oversight: Ensure project quality standards are met, and oversee administrative processes like HR, contracts, and invoicing.
  6. Strategic Contribution: Align activities with Catalyze’s vision and mission, and contribute to organizational improvement.
  7. Client Support: Lead client assignments and contribute directly to project success.
  8. Account Management & Business Development: Maintain client networks, identify opportunities, and collaborate with the Spain Country Manager to grow our market presence in Spain.

Required qualifications include proven leadership skills, experience in grant writing (especially EU funding), strategic planning, and a strong understanding of Spanish grants and innovation development. Fluency in English and Spanish, willingness to travel to Barcelona once a month, and a relevant Master’s degree are also essential.
