Spain Team

The Spain Team, established in 2024 and based in Barcelona (Sarria-Sant Gervasi), is a growing, dynamic unit. You will join a highly qualified team, including our Country Manager and an Innovation Consultant, collaborating closely with colleagues in the Netherlands to make a global impact. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new and expanding division, with plans to establish a dedicated Spain consultancy team by the end of 2025.

MANAGING CONSULTANT

We are seeking applicants with fluency in Spanish & English and experience in team leadership.

As a Managing Consultant, you will lead and develop a team of approximately 6 innovation consultants, acting as a role model and playing a key role in expanding Catalyze’s market presence in Spain. Your expertise in innovation consultancy, client networking, and business development will be essential.

You will identify key challenges in clients’ innovation paths, define impactful projects, and ensure high-quality delivery. You will also oversee team performance, manage operations, and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership: Provide guidance to foster team cohesion and address escalations.
2. Performance Management: Monitor and optimize team results and financial outcomes.
3. Planning and Resource Allocation: Assign projects effectively to maximize productivity.
4. Personal Development: Support team members’ growth and engagement.
5. Quality Assurance: Ensure project quality and oversee administrative processes.
6. Strategic Contribution: Align activities with Catalyze’s mission and improve organizational performance.
7. Client Support: Lead client assignments and contribute to project success.
8. Business Development: Build and maintain client networks, identify opportunities, and collaborate with the Spain Country Manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven leadership and consultancy experience.
• Passion for innovations in Life Sciences & Health, Green & Sustainable, or Digital Tech.
• Master’s degree, preferably in science or business.
• At least 6 years in grant writing, strategic planning, or project management, with 5+ years in a commercial setting supporting business development.
• Strong understanding of Spanish grants and proven success in securing funding.
• Willingness to travel to Barcelona once a month if based elsewhere.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, organization, and communication skills in Spanish and English.
