Baringa is seeking an experienced Manager to join our Madrid team, leading transaction and investment engagements across renewable energy, storage and low-carbon infrastructure. You will help grow the Strategy & Transactions offering in Iberia and shape our regional propositions while advising leading energy companies and investors.

• 5+ years of professional experience in the power and energy sector as a strategy consultant or M&A advisor.

Our Markets & Transactions practice is looking for an experienced Manager to join our growing Madrid team, leading transaction and investment engagements across renewable energy, battery storage, biomethane, e-fuels and other low-carbon infrastructure.

You will be joining our dynamic and growing Advisory practice. We work with a range of clients from across the energy value chain, covering utilities, IPPs and developers, integrated energy companies, institutional investors and lenders, to help them successfully navigate the energy transition. Baringa is differentiated through its ability to leverage a fundamental understanding of the market, technical, commercial and regulatory drivers of value and risk to help clients develop projects, deploy capital, or launch new products and services that help decarbonise our economy.

This is an opportunity to help grow our Strategy & Transactions offering in Iberia while advising leading energy companies, developers, infrastructure owners, investors and lenders. You will lead high-impact client work, shape our regional proposition and contribute to the development of a growing Madrid-based team.

Our remit covers the whole Clean Infrastructure spectrum: renewable generation, storage and flexibility, clean molecules and low carbon infrastructure. Leveraging our industry-leading market capabilities and IP, and supported by senior energy market experts, you will support clients on market entry, investment appraisal and growth strategy, portfolio value creation, diversification and capability development.

What you will be doing

As a Manager, You Will

• Lead strategy advisory workstreams: Leveraging our distinctive Power & Renewables expertise and proprietary insights, take day-to-day ownership of engagements spanning corporate strategy, transaction strategy, portfolio value creation, investment and development strategy, commercial optimisation, route-to-market and market access.
• Support transactions: Run buy side and sell side commercial due diligence, vendor commercial due diligence and bid support, working closely with corporate, infrastructure and private equity clients.
• Lead investment appraisal and valuation work: Lead investment appraisal and valuation work: Oversee business plan reviews, valuation analysis, financial modelling, financing and contracting structures, and clearly articulate value drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Develop and manage client relationships: Help manage and deepen existing client relationships while building new ones, and deliver high-impact strategic and commercial propositions.
• Develop the team: Coach and develop junior colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration, support, high performance and continuous improvement.
• Support business development: Contribute to proposals, brand building and origination of new opportunities in the region.
• Deliver high-quality engagements: Ensure excellence in project delivery and client management, including quality assurance, financial management and commercial oversight.

Your Skills And Experience

We are looking for candidates with experience in several of the following areas:

• Professional experience: 5+ years of professional experience in the power and energy sector, gained as a strategy consultant or M&A advisor, in corporate development or M&A within an energy company, or as a principal investor in a private equity or infrastructure fund.
• Power sector understanding: A fundamental understanding of the power sector and its key value drivers, spanning conventional and renewable generation, storage and flexibility, networks, retail and supply, and low carbon infrastructure. Awareness of key players, projects and market drivers globally and particularly in the Iberian Peninsula.
• Strategy and transactions: Experience supporting growth strategy, market entry, commercial due diligence and other transaction-related engagements within the power and energy sector.
• Corporate finance toolkit: Strong valuation and financial modelling skills, comfort with business plans and financing structures, and experience assessing value creation across the asset life cycle.
• Commercial structures: Experience assessing routes to market for power generation and flexible assets, and designing business models in energy markets.
• Project leadership: Experience leading projects or workstreams, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing delivery, timelines and budgets.
• Analytical excellence: Strong analytical skills with the capability to develop hypotheses and draw conclusions within tight timeframes.
• Client relationship management: Ability to build trusted client relationships, operate effectively in client-facing environments and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Languages: Professional fluency in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
